Enter Vangelis Pavlidis, the Greek striker who plays for Benfica. He’s been doing well for a few years now, known for his goalscoring
and good all-around play. He made an impression on Barça specifically when he netted a hat-trick against them in the UEFA Champions League.
A few days ago, his name was mentioned on Spanish radio as a potential plan B alongside João Pedro (Chelsea) and Dušan Vlahović (ex-Juventus).
And a new report from Portugal confirms there is interest from Barcelona’s side for the striker. The arrival of Jhon Durán on loan could theoretically open up space for Benfica to sell their starting forward, but the report pushes back against such a possibility.
It seems like Benfica are not willing to part with such a key player. The rumors are that they are instead interested in selling another forward, Franjo Ivanović, instead.
