The Wisconsin Badgers are taking on the Minnesota Gophers at the Kohl Center on Wednesday, with tip-off scheduled for 8:00 P.M. on Big Ten Network.
The Badgers had their first loss in over three weeks when they fell 73-71 at home to the USC Trojans over the weekend in a back-and-forth game. Wisconsin fell behind early, then had a strong push to end the first half with a 41-39 lead. They then took a commanding lead with a 17-2 run in the second half, but USC cut the 12-point deficit and ultimately
won by two on the road.
Wisconsin fell to 14-6, including 6-3 in the Big Ten, and had its first Quad 2 loss of the season in the game. But they have a chance to bounce back on Wednesday when they face Minnesota for the second time this season.
In the first matchup, the Badgers won on a buzzer-beating three from John Blackwell, who had 27 points in that win. After falling behind early, the Badgers had a phenomenal second half, scoring 50 points en route to a road win.
In this one, Minnesota is expected to be without leading scorer Cade Tyson, who is averaging 20 points a game this season. He’s been a huge part of the Gophers offense, which already ranked second-to-last in the Big Ten.
