Dawn Sullivan made a late-time addition to the 2026 roster for Mizzou volleyball, bringing in Ceylin Ruyan.
The 6-foot-3 outside hitter is originally from Istanbul, Turkey. Kuyan played on Turkey’s U19 National team, bringing a flare of international experience to the roster. She helped Turkey win a gold medal at the 2025 European Youth Summer
Olympic Festival and a 4th place finish in the 2025 FIVB Girls’ U19 World Championship. As a member of the national team she was voted a two-time Best Outside Hitter and a one-time Best Opposite. In addition to representing Turkey on the international stage, Kuyan has spent the last two seasons playing club volleyball for Zeren Spor Kulübü.
Sullivan has previous experience coaching international players, including Turkey native Dilara Gedikoglu. Kuyan is the third international player on the roster, joining Nina Mandovic (Serbia) and Maca Lobaglio (Argentina).
Mizzou volleyball is in need of a renaissance at the outside hitter position after the departure of graduating starters Caylen Alexander and Janet deMarrais. This sort of unknown gives the opportunity for younger players like Kuhan the ability to carve out a role despite only being a freshman. After missing the NCAA Tournament under Coach Sullivan, Kuhan and the rest of the rest of these young players come in with a chip on their shoulder and have an opportunity to make an early impact.
