Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany can look at his scouting reports and see a lot of reasons why his squad is considered to be a big favorite over Werder Bremen on Friday.
However, do not expect Kompany
to let his troops think that Werder Bremen is about to lay down for the Bavarians.
“They have a coach [Horst Steffen] who is managing a team in the Bundesliga for the first time , but who has also had a lot of success in the past – with a special style of play that you can already see at Werder Bremen. But if I can put it quite simply: We’re playing at home, we’re up for it, and we want to win. The team should present itself positively – and that’s what we can expect. We want to keep the three points in Munich,” Kompany said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Werder Bremen is ravaged by injuries and despite already having a win and a draw in four league games — plus some quality players — it might be tough for Die Werderaner to keep up with the blazing hot Bavarians.
Bayern Munich will host Werder Bremen in a Bundesliga match that — on paper — looks a little lopsided.
Okay, a lot lopsided.
The Bavarians are scorching hot and Werder Bremen has a slew of injuries, which makes for what could be a very tough challenge against a Bayern Munich team than can just wear down the opposition.
Let’s get into it — this is what we have on tap for this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works — Preview Show:
