Two of the most popular rookies in recent years will face off for the first time in their career on Monday night, as Ace Bailey and the Utah Jazz host the No. 1 pick Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks.
Flagg has had an efficient, but modest first two games of his preseason campaign. In both games he’s shot over 50% from the field and has put up decent rebounding, assists, steals and blocks numbers, but has only scored 11 and 10 points in said games.
Bailey on the other hand has gotten some national praise from his two performances. So far, Bailey is averaging 22.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists on 65.5% field goal shooting.
The Mavericks haven’t utilized Flagg nearly as much as the Jazz have utilized Bailey in the preseason. Bailey played 39 and 31 minutes in his two games, while Flagg has yet to play 25. Hopefully, we will see a Flagg with less of a leash when he plays at the Delta Center.
