Sometimes in sibling rivalries, the little brother might actually be better at something. It eats at the big bro, but not a lot because they are better at so much more. Better looking, more popular and better athlete all around. The little brother might specialize in something and be better at that.
For instance, my little brother was a freak at Call of Duty. Literally watched him go 30 and 3 just running around quick-scoping people. It was unreal and I could not touch him. Everything else we competed
at? You guessed it, I was better.
I say all that to say this: This weekend is Mississippi State’s Super Bowl because this is their specialty. It is quite impressive owning the top 25 most attended games in the sport. Also helps that they are a real threat to win the whole thing again this season.
The key to this weekend series is offense. The Rebels are led by Tristan Bissetta and Judd Utermark who are both batting over .300 and have double digit home runs. The problem is that they are the only two regulars batting over .300. For the Bulldogs, while no one has double digit homers, seven of their regulars are batting over .300 and just about anyone they throw in the lineup is doing that save a few.
The Rebels will need to wake up the bats throughout the lineup while Hunter Elliott and the staff attempt to slow down the Dawgs. Elliott has been average, which is not what you need out of a Friday starter in the SEC and Cade Townsend is still day to day with his shoulder injury.
Winning the series against Kentucky was big, but that was followed by dropping one to Memphis. Ole Miss cannot afford to get swept. Winning the series would be awesome, winning one is a must.
