Marc Casado’s future was the subject of speculation in the summer transfer window, with speculation that he could be sold by Barcelona for a fee of around €30m.
There was talk of interest from Premier League
clubs in the midfielder, but he made it clear he did not want to leave and wanted to fight for his place at Barcelona.
Deco has been asked about the situation and denied Barca put Casado up for sale.
“That only happened with Ansu, with Oriol (Romeu), who is an example as a professional and as a person, with Lenglet, with Pablo (Torre)… All of these have been sporting decisions,” he told Mundo Deportivo.
“If we get an offer and the player, for whatever reason, is hesitant, we can talk and consider it, but that didn’t happen with Casadó.”
Casado started the season way down the pecking order but has gone on to play six times, with Barcelona having been by hit injuries to midfielders Gavi and Fermin Lopez.
