Chiefs just crossed a key offseason milestone ahead of mandatory OTAs | Chiefs Wire
From first-round picks Mansoor Delane and Peter Woods to seventh-round selection Garrett Nussmeier, Kansas City’s latest signings mark key additions to the Chiefs’ roster on both sides of the ball.
While it remains to be seen how often head coach Andy Reid will elect to throw his newly-signed rookies into action during their first year of NFL competition, the former NCAA standouts will all have an opportunity to begin
finding their niche in Kansas City’s system when mandatory OTAs start on June 9.
During the Chiefs’ offseason program, all of Kansas City’s draft picks — including Delane, Woods, Nussmeier, R Mason Thomas, Jadon Canady, Emmett Johnson, and Cyrus Allen — should be expected to build rapport with their veteran counterparts before Chiefs training camp begins in late July.
Stay tuned to see how all of Kansas City’s first-year standouts will fare during their first taste of NFL practice sessions.
World Cup fans will see one prominent reminder of the Chiefs at games in KC | The Kansas City Star
A banner trumpeting the Chiefs’ four Super Bowl titles will remain during the tournament.vFour games will be played at Kansas City Stadium, including two knockout games.
It’s a rare reminder about the Chiefs because of FIFA regulations.
“The venues have to be provided to us clean, meaning that conflicting sponsors and all that needs to be sorted,” Jhamie Chin, a senior media relations officer for FIFA, told The Star in April. “This was all in the bid and the host city regulations, right? This is something they’ve known they’re going to have to do, and it’s happening across all the venues that will host the tournament.
“And so that’s why, for example, you’ll see the stadium will be called Kansas City stadium, as opposed to Arrowhead, because we have to protect our partners that invest a lot of money for that IP (intellectual property).”
Chiefs’ Travis Kelce left a 1,500% tip for worker at a Kansas City restaurant | The Kansas City Star
The 87 Concrete is made with creme caramel, Oreo and cookie dough in the company’s frozen custard. A portion of each treat was donated to Kelce’s 87 and Running foundation.
While unsure if he was looking for that particular concoction, Kelce stopped by a Kansas City Andy’s location on Friday and got a treat for himself (Taylor Swift apparently was not with him) while going through the drive-thru. A worker shared a photo of the encounter and wrote: “I had the pleasure of serving and taking @killatrav order tonight! … Go Chiefs!”
TMZ reported that Kelce left a massive tip for the worker.
This is from that story: “The employee, who owns Hidden Files Studio clothing brand, tells TMZ … the Kansas City Chiefs star was super ‘down to earth and humble’ and let employees take pics with him. She says he thanked her manager and expressed gratitude for his fans.
RB Emari Demercado
Demercado has been written off a bit because of the addition of Emmett Johnson in the 2026 NFL Draft. However, the coaching staff still appears to be very high on him and his abilities. He was consistently the No. 2 running back behind Kenneth Walker, not only in solo drills, but also 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 team drills at OTAs. It’s not a coincidence that RB coach DeMarco Murray name-dropped Demercado directly after Kenneth Walker when speaking about the RB room.
“Emari (Demercado) has been great,” Murray said. “A savvy vet who does things constantly right, and just continuing to put himself in great position to be successful.”
Things can obviously change throughout the course of an offseason, but after OTAs it feels like Demercado is closer to RB2 in Kansas City than any other prospect.

Giants’ Abdul Carter leaves practice with ankle injury | ESPN
New York Giants second-year edge rusher Abdul Carter left practice early Monday during the first day of mandatory minicamp due to an ankle injury.
Carter took off his cleats and walked off the field early in the practice. He did not return.
The Giants’ initial diagnosis is that the injury is minor.
“Looks like he twisted his ankle to some degree and doesn’t look serious,” coach John Harbaugh said afterward.
New York is banking on Carter to have a big season after he was the No. 3 pick in the 2025 NFL draft out of Penn State. He had four sacks in an up-and-down rookie campaign that saw him benched twice for being late or missing meetings.
The 49ers have been opening to trading Aiyuk, but 49ers general manager John Lynch said in April following the 2026 NFL Draft that that the team had no plans to release him “anytime soon.” According to Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan in January, Aiyuk’s relationship with the club broke down after the receiver stopped coming to the team facility and disengaged in communicating with them.
Aiyuk did not provide any details on what’s caused the disharmony, but left a lengthy message in which he didn’t shy away from disparaging the team.
In his full video statement, Aiyuk, 28, said:
“We dealing with, ya know like them kids when they don’t get picked for the basketball game at the court, but they the ones that brought the ball, so they like, ‘Alright, you all don’t want to pick me, I’m taking my ball, I’m going home.’ Ass boys. Little-ass boys.
“Or like when your kid, he got this one toy, but he don’t really know how to use it correctly, so somebody else about to pick it up and play with it. And they like, ‘Oh yeah, this s— litty.’ And they like, wait, wait, wait, wait, hold on, that’s my toy. Ass boy. Little-ass boy.
Rams dreaming of the possibility of an Aaron Donald comeback | Pro Football Talk
Retired defensive lineman Aaron Donald is “flirting” with a comeback after the Rams traded for edge rusher Myles Garrett last week. It has created a buzz in Los Angeles, even among Rams players.
“When you have a guy that’s that serious about even considering coming out, it’s like ‘OK, we might have a chance,’” safety Quentin Lake said Monday, via Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times.
Donald, 35, has not played since 2023, his 10th season in the NFL.
The thought of pairing Donald, who has won Defensive Player of the Year three times, with Garrett, who has won it twice, including in 2025, has the rest of the NFL worried.
The Rams are waiting and dreaming of the possibility.

Evaluating Xavier Worthy’s 2025 Season
Staying healthy is harder when you’re regularly absorbing tackles. Despite his elite speed, Worthy also isn’t a particularly dangerous runner after the catch because he struggles to break tackles and lacks the creativity and agility of elite YAC threats. Comparing anyone to Tyreek Hill is unfair, but Hill’s ability to make defenders miss and break tackles in tight spaces was special. Worthy doesn’t have that element to his game.
I also think there’s more to tap into as a vertical weapon, but that requires better chemistry with Patrick Mahomes. Worthy gets open downfield often enough, yet Mahomes has missed him more than you’d expect. Improving that connection could lead to more explosive plays.
I continue to think the pairing of Rice and Worthy is an awkward fit. While Worthy can play outside, I don’t think it’s his ideal role, and Rice is also at his best in the slot, operating almost exclusively underneath. The Chiefs can’t maximize both players, and last year, Worthy had to play the less favorable role.
In a perfect world, Worthy would be a slot receiver who wins against zone coverage and creates explosive plays downfield. I think he can be a highly impactful player in that role. Until the Chiefs find better complementary receivers, however, it’s difficult to see him reaching his full potential.
