Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Miami Marlins, August 11, 2026, 6:40 p.m. ET
The Pittsburgh Pirates are taking their talents to South Beach as they take on the Miami Marlins in the first game of a three-game set this week at loanDepot Park.
Paul Skenes is on the mound for the Pirates, and he’s coming off a loss in his last start against the Milwaukee Brewers on August 5. Skenes pitched five innings, giving up two hits and three earned runs, as the Bucs lost 4-2 against the first-place team in the NL Central at American Family Field.
Skenes started against the Marlins when they
visited PNC Park back in June. He went six innings, giving up four hits and two earned runs, in an identical 4-2 loss. The hope is that fortunes turn around for Skenes as he looks for his first win since July 19.
Eury Pérez is drawing the start for the Marlins. Pérez is 5-9 with a 3.61 ERA so far this season in 20 starts. In his last appearance on August 5 against the Atlanta Braves, he went five innings, giving up seven hits and four runs in a 4-1 loss at Truist Park. He is looking for his first win since July 5 when he beat the Athletics on the road.
