The vibes are as high as we could’ve imagined halfway through year one of the Will Stein era. The Wildcats sit at 5-1 overall and are tied for second place in the SEC. The staff has not only gotten it done on the field, but they’re in a great spot on the recruiting trail as well, picking up three predictions to land a few big-time recruits in 2028.
Sam Spiegelman of Rivals has logged a prediction for Stein and Kentucky to land Jordan Anderson and Kellan Hall in the 2028 class, and Chad Simmons says
Kentucky is “making a strong push” for Grayden Reid.
In addition, Cats Pause’s Josh Edwards haslogged a prediction for Kentucky to land Hall.
Anderson is a 6-foot, 180-pound four-star wide receiver from Pflugerville, Texas. He’s the No. 36 wide receiver in the class and had a breakout sophomore season for Pflugerville Weiss last season, where he accumulated 74 catches for over 1,200 yards and 17 touchdowns. After seeing what receivers like Kenny Darby and DJ Miller have done in the Stein/Joe Sloan offense, these upcoming recruits want to be a part of this in the future. Anderson is a multi-sport athlete who also runs track and can absolutely move on the track, with a 22.40 200-meter time to his name. A potential stud to be fed in the future for Kentucky football.
Hall is the best defensive lineman and one of the biggest names in the class. He’s being recruited heavily by just about everyone in the entire country, but Kentucky has done all it can to lure in the elite 2028 recruit. Hall plays at Christian Academy of Louisville and has now visited Kentucky twice in four home games for the Cats, with the recent one coming after he made the trip instead of going to Ohio State. He is ranked as the No. 2 overall player in the class of 2028. Standing at 6-foot-4 and 265 pounds, Hall is a mismatch nightmare for offensive lines for any team he lines up against.
Grayden Reid is a 6-foot-3, 185-pound cornerback in the class of 2028. He currently plays at Tabor Academy in Marion, Massachusetts. Reid is originally from Louisville, Kentucky, where he played at Atherton High School. Reid holds offers from just about any school you could imagine, showing that it won’t be an easy recruitment for Kentucky with some huge names pursuing the elite corner prospect. He’s currently ranked No. 89 in the country and the No. 8 corner in America.
Joe Price has been the primary recruiter for Anderson, and Jay Bateman for Hall and Reid, with Allen Brown also having a hand in recruiting Reid; all of these coaches have the arrows pointing up in these recruitments. Kentucky has been one of the stories of college football to this point in the season, but if it can continue to crush it on the recruiting front, this will be just the beginning of Kentucky making noise throughout college football.
