It’s the Cats vs the Vols, as Kentucky is set to host Tennessee in Rupp Arena for a big-time SEC showdown tonight.
Tonight we will see Kentucky take the court in the denim uniforms, a nod to one of the most beloved teams in UK history – the 1996 national championship team. 30 years later, we’ll see the denim return in Rupp Arena tonight.
But aside from that, tonight is a big matchup as Kentucky will look to keep pace in what is looking to be an extremely competitive SEC. Kentucky needs to continue
to pick up quality wins for its NCAA Tournament resume, while also trying to remain near the top of the SEC standings.
The Cats trailed by as many as 17 in the last matchup in Knoxville, but stormed back to pick up one of its biggest wins of the season behind a big performance from Denzel Aberdeen (22 points) and key contributions off the bench from Jasper Johnson and Collin Chandler (12 points each, combined 6-9 from three).
Can Kentucky pick up another big win today? Tip-off for tonight’s game is set for 8:30 ET on ESPN.
