Wisdom Mike is officially leaving Bayern Munich, with the 17-year-old winger completing a move to Belgian champion Club Brugge.
Mike joined the Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022 after developing in the Borussia Mönchengladbach academy. His time in Munich saw him progress rapidly through the youth ranks, eventually earning a first-team opportunity at just 16-years-old.
Mike made his professional debut only two days after his 17th birthday and went on to make five competitive appearances for Bayern
Munich. He was also part of the club’s squad for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States. During his time with the first team, Mike collected a Bundesliga title and a Supercup.
Bayern Munich sporting director Christoph Freund paid tribute to Mike’s development and character following the transfer.
“Weezy came to FC Bayern at the age of 13, has continued to develop with us, made his professional debut just two days after his 17th birthday and became a German youth international. In addition to his sporting abilities, he stands out for his great character. We wish him all the best for the future,” Freund said in a release from FCBayern.com.
Mike began his football journey at MSV Duisburg before moving to Gladbach and eventually Bayern Munich. He also became a German youth international and contributed to the club away from the pitch, completing his voluntary service in elite sport at Bayern Munich.
The move to Club Brugge represents another important step in Mike’s development.
Per Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg, Bayern Munich has secured match rights in the deal, but not a buyback clause. There are also unconfirmed rumors that Bayern Munich has a sell-on clause, too, but that has not been confirmed.
