AEW is stacking Summer Blockbuster with talent, and Jon Moxley will defend the the Continental Championship against a super heavyweight. Moxley and the Death Riders have been throwing fists on Shane Taylor Promotions in recent weeks. Taylor wants to show them who is the baddest faction in AEW, and he will get his chance to fight Moxley for gold.
Tensions ignited during Collision on Saturday night (June 6, 2026). Taylor was in a mood when he punched Alan Angels out of the air and finished with a package
piledriver.
Taylor turned his attention to calling out the Death Riders. Moxley’s merry men have a reputation as the most violent group in AEW. That changes now. STP will take that spot. Taylor called for Moxley to rumble.
Moxley was joined by Claudio Castagnoli and PAC for trios action against Lee Moriarty and the Infantry. The match was marred by outside activity. One thing led to another, and Trish Adora had a chair plotting to hit PAC. Marina Shafir ran in to kick ass. The Death Riders moved like a well-oiled machine to truck over Carlie Bravo. PAC delivered a hefty lariat and submit Bravo with the Brutalizer.
Backstage, Taylor continued to poke the Mox by attacking young Wheeler Yuta. He questioned if the Death Riders have become soft. Taylor has no fear of the Death Riders, and he challenged Moxley for a fight in the champ’s hometown.
Moxley accepted the challenge for Wednesday night in Cincinnati. He cautioned Taylor that the big man may not be as tough as he thinks.
This should be a good fight. Put aside the notion that Taylor isn’t pushed much on AEW television. He is one hard-hitting dude. Taylor has the ability to put Moxley in dangerous positions. Continental rules makes this matchup even more interesting. Taylor often cheats with STP, so this will force him to stand alone. Let’s see how bad Taylor truly is against a man like Moxley when it is mano a mano.
