The TV ratings and viewership data are in for the Oct. 15 episodes of AEW Dynamite on TBS… and the Oct. 15 episode of Collision.
With WrestleDream (and a Tailgate Brawl pre-show on TNT) on Saturday night,
AEW aired a truncated version of their usual Saturday night program after its usual Wednesday night one in its regular time spot. Nielsen, via Programming Insider, tracked it as the usual two-hour Dynamite from 8-9 p.m. Eastern, and a one-hour Collision from 10-11 p.m. ET.
Dynamite drew 534,000 viewers with a .11 rating in the 18-49 year old demographic. That’s way up from the previous week’s episode, which was bumped to Tuesday by baseball, and sent into its annual rematch with WWE NXT — specifically 66% in overall audience, and 57% in the demo.
The Collision hour then hung onto a decent chunk of those overall viewers with an audience of 400K, and held the demo with a .11 rating. Collision was already an anomaly as the only wrestling show seemingly unaffected by Nielsen’s new model for calculating TV ratings, and a pre-empted edition making huge episode-to-episode jumps like this (40% and 83%, respectively) won’t make it any easier to understand what’s going on.
Regarding this set of numbers though, the main live competition AEW’s show(s) faced came from the baseball postseason. FS1’s coverage of ALCS game 3 led the night on all of television with a 1.01 rating from 4.58 million viewers, while NBC’s 8 p.m. episode of Chicago Med was the night’s most watched show with an audience of 5.66 million with a .39 in the demo. Dynamite and Collision came in eighth on cable.
