Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has been asked once again about Real Madrid and Barcelona’s interest in Julian Alvarez.
Madrid issued a statement to confirm they had seen a bid worth €150m for Alvarez turned down by Atletico, with Los Colchoneros responding with a fairly savage message on social media.
Cerezo acknowledged that an offer had been made by Los Blancos but also expressed his frustration at the transfer talk once again.
“Yes, Real Madrid made an offer, from Florentino, and you all
know what was said to Real Madrid,” he told reporters on Wednesday. “You keep repeating this, and it’s getting tiresome.”
Barcelona are also reported to have made a €100m bid for Alvarez, although Cerezo says he knows nothing about it.
“We have no knowledge of any other offers; we have a contract with the player,” he added.
“Anyone who wants Julián can come, look at the contract, and if they’re interested, they can take him.”
Cerezo is referring to Alvarez’s buyout clause which is set at €500m.
Meanwhile, a new report from Diario Sport claims Barcelona are planning on making an offer of €135m for Alvarez after World Cup 2026.
