Don Callis unveiled a masterpiece on Dynamite

Don Callis’ art has long been a fixture of AEW television. Here are some of our favorites from his collection over the years…

Last night (Oct. 29), Callis debuted his masterpiece. Sure, it was unveiled

in the midst of a Family Summit that did not go the way Don wanted it to (and while it did give a little bit of spotlight to each member, it went on a bit long), but he thinks he has it under control. He’s put Okada and Takeshita in a tag match on Collision, and you have to wonder if Callis really thinks they’ll learn to work together, or if he’s gonna lead a beatdown of whichever Japanese superstar he’s decided to cut loose.

But I digress. Without further ado, here was the centerpiece of Don’s team-building exercise on Dynamite…

Save one — after Andrade’s contractual issues emerged, we’re assuming Callis either hadn’t started on or was able to paint over El Ídolo — all of La Familia is present, even injured members like Trent Beretta, and injured and beefing-with-the paterfamilias-on-social-media ones like Brian Cage. While it’s actually less homoerotic than most of the two-man portraits Don’s unveiled on Dynamite in the past, Excalibur decided to call this one out… at least to the dozens of us who caught and got the reference beneath his “Don of Finland” joke.

Anyway, I get a kick out of this bit, and you let me worry about why.
