Bayern Munich could be toying with the idea of inking center-back Kim Min-jae to a contract extension:
Kim Min-jae now has a future at FC Bayern again. The defender had previously been told that the club would be open to offers, but Kim has now played his way back into the team under Vincent Kompany. Bayern bosses therefore want to sit down with him in autumn to discuss his future. Kim’s contract runs until 2028.
Kim has been solid this season and looks comfortable in his role as the no.3 center-back
on the squad. By all accounts, Kim has kept a good attitude and been a good teammate throughout his good times and bad times in Bavaria.
There is also something to be said for wanting to be at a club. While the big Korean might never achieve the heights of stardom predicted for him when he arrived at Bayern Munich, he can be a solid professional and a good third option. If he continues his steady play and accepts a pay decrease, he could get a new deal in Bavaria.
Barca wants to extend Raphinha (ESPN)
FC Barcelona is reportedly looking to extend the contract of forward Raphinha:
Barcelona are set to begin talks with forward Raphinha over a new contract, according to Diario Sport. It is believed that the 29-year-old, who represents himself, met with sporting director Deco on Tuesday afternoon to discuss official talks commencing soon, and he is reportedly keen to stay put at the Camp Nou. Raphinha has directly contributed to 11 goals in six matches across all competitions this season, including two assists in Sunday’s 4-2 La Liga win over Levante.

Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé is making a hard push for the Ballon d’Or:

It has been reported that there is a €15 million Ballon d’Or bonus clause in Mbappe’s Madrid contract, so it’s no surprise he’s making a public push, and his case is backed up by impressive raw numbers. Over the course of 44 appearances for Real last season, Mbappe plundered 42 goals, and laid on another seven for good measure. He scored 16 for France across the World Cup and the five international breaks that came before it, bringing him to 58 goals overall, the joint-second highest total in Europe alongside Manchester City and Norway terminator Erling Haaland.

Ouédraogo would have been selected if healthy (Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg)
German national team boss Jürgen Klopp indicate that RB Leipzig midfielder Assan Ouédraogo would have been called up for the national team camp if he was healthy.
“Assan would have been there 100%. He’s an exceptional talent. But his shoulder needs to heal now. I’m already looking forward to the time when he’ll be with us,” said Klopp.
Ouédraogo has a promising future, but has dealt with some unfortunate injuries. Surely, he will be looking to prove himself in front of Klopp soon enough.
Second round of Kane talks ongoing (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
The second round of contract talks between Harry Kane and Bayern Munich is going on now:
✅ It is TRUE: The second round of contract negotiations with Harry Kane have begun. The talks have been going on since the weekend. At Elversberg, it’s a really small stadium; they’re rebuilding, which is why there are fewer than 10,000 fans in the stands. So, you can spot any prominent faces in the crowd, and in this case, Pat and Charlie Kane were seen in the stadium. But it wasn’t just a family trip. They’re in Germany at the moment to discuss with Bayern bosses whether there’ll be a new contract for Harry Kane. Both sides are really optimistic that he’ll sign a new deal. It’s clear that it won’t be fewer than two years – minimum to 2029. But Harry Kane could imagine signing a longer deal.
He wants to play the Euros in 2028 and also has an eye on the World Cup in 2030. Then you have to think about how much money he’ll earn. If it’s two years, I think it’ll be the same salary as he has now. It’s said to be around €25m [£21.3m] a year. Perhaps if it’s a longer contract, they’ll have to discuss whether it needs to be a little less. There are other ideas, like whether there needs to be a release clause, as Kane had in his old contract (where he had until January to trigger it). However, he never ended up activating this, as he’s feeling so happy in Munich.
It’s just not true that he’s discussing any options with other clubs; not with Real Madrid, not with English clubs and also not with Saudi Arabia. In the summer, there were rumours of talks with the Saudi Pro League, but there were no such talks that took place with Harry Kane or his family. He wants to win the Champions League with FC Bayern.
As expected, the only roadblock here is whether Kane gets a two-year extension (through 2029) or a three-year deal (through 2030). There is also the specter of a release clause that could be added as well.
For now, though, the talks seems to be progressing and amicable. Eventually, the “years” problem will have to be solved and that discussion will likely be the final, determining factor on what happens with Kane.
Gunners still chasing Rodrygo (ESPN)
Arsenal still would like to bring in Real Madrid attacker Rodrygo in a story that seems to be forever in the rumor mill:
Arsenal remain in contact with the camp of Real Madrid winger Rodrygo as a potential long-term target, according to TEAMtalk. The Brazil international, 25, is currently recovering from a serious knee injury with a targeted return around December, while the Gunners are still looking to bolster their wide options following the summer departures of Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.
Bayern not looking at Wanner, but Liverpool is (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)
While the rumors linking Bayern Munich to PSV Eindhoven midfielder Paul Wanner might be offbase, Liverpool could actually want the former Bayern prodigy:
❌ It is NOT TRUE: Bayern Munich are extremely keen on bringing Paul Wanner back to Munich. FC Bayern gave him away, so they always have the chance to get him back, but they’re currently okay in this position. There is interest from some clubs around, like Liverpool, there have always been talks. But he’s a young player (at 20 years of age), and he has to show he’s good enough to play for a massive club. I heard Wanner’s focus and concentration are 100% on PSV Eindhoven currently. He’s determined to show he’s the best in his position in the Dutch top-flight. Then this can bring him into the focus of top clubs. At the moment, it’s not hot with Bayern.
Wanner’s transition to being a No. 8 seems to fit his profile, but the Eredivisie is not necessarily a league known for its defense. How would Wanner handle a consistent, aggressive, high press? Can he translate his currently play to a higher-level platform? There is no reason right now to think that he cannot, but he will have to prove it.
