We started the week with Andrade El Ídolo telling Latin Lover about how it’s difficult for Mexicans to break out in WWE because the company gives preference to acts they are determined to make stars, or favor for other reasons. He brought up “Samoan guys” late in the most-shared quote.
Seemingly in response, The Usos yesterday tweeted: “the difference between us and them” is that “we draw”.
Which brings us to today, Fri., Sept. 4. With no other context than the possibly-related backstory I just provided,
Andrade reached out to the man he had a best-of-seven series with on SmackDown in 2024, Carmelo Hayes.

It’s a question others have been asking since Hayes dropped the U.S. title in the lead-up to WrestleMania in March. Melo hasn’t wrestled since a loss to now-U.S. champion Baron Corbin three weeks ago on the Aug. 14 SmackDown.
But it’s not as if there aren’t talented people struggling to get television time in AEW, as well. Some have responded to Andrade specifically mentioning two Mexican stars many fans want to see more of Dynamite and Collision, RUSH and The Beast Mortos.
Has Andrade gotten to WWE and its most vocal fans here, or do he and the sickos cheering him on live in a glass house?
