Wehen Wiesbaden may have set Bayern Munich off on the wrong foot, but the Bavarians redeemed themselves with a 15-0 win against Rottach-Egern. As the team heads into Tegernsee in preparation for the upcoming 2026/27 season, a game against the local amateur side was bound to happen. This year, Kompany and company upped their previous result of 14-1 by one goal and maintained a clean sheet. Here are the awards from tonight’s goal-fest.
Jersey Swap: Kilian Zimmer
Did clinicality keep Bayern from scoring more, or was it the valiant
efforts of Rottach-Egern keeper Kilian Zimmer?
Bayern has two kryptonites — goalkeepers and ex-Bayern players. Kilian Zimmer, surprisingly, checks off both boxes. You heard that right. Back in 2009, Zimmer played for Bayern II as a keeper. To put into perspective the timeline, this was the time Thomas Müller started playing for the senior team.
No wonder he was giving the attack a run for their money. For about twenty minutes in the first half, he put forth tremendous saves and did an exceptional job at maintaining the scoreline. However, a man can only do so much for so long, and ultimately, Arijon Ibrahimović and Maycon Cardozo’s goals put an end to his efforts and he was subbed off in the second half.
Der Kaiser: Filip Pavić
Kim Min-Jae had a great thirty minutes, but Croatian international Filip Pavić takes home the award.
Did either of them have much work to do? Frankly no. This was not a game where the defense needed to up the ante. But Pavić deserves the award because he kept the defense stable despite playing a shapeless highline. He is the only player to have played the whole duration of the game. He looked composed, and in fact, opened up the scoring for Bayern.
Pavić genuinely looks like an incredible prospect and one can only hope he features more often in the upcoming season.
Der Fussballgott: Felipe Chávez
It is not very often that I make explosive claims, but seriously, Felipe Chávez is the future. Two-footed, technically gifted, intelligent and versatile, and I could go on. If you have never seen him play, not even in the RB Salzburg fixture, this game should make you understand why he was in such demand earlier this year. The teams vying to get him on loan were later disappointed, but Bayern has everything to gain.
A brace and two assists in 60 minutes. Chávez is shaping up to be much more than just another kid from the campus.
Der Bomber: Arijon Ibrahimović
Ibrahimović has had tough times, and many anticipated that he was going to redeem himself this season. He has certainly kick-started the process with this game. Same as Chávez, the 20-year-old secured two goals and two assists in 60 minutes. However, they are very different players. Ibrahimović is constantly searching for the chance to shoot and score — he is not as creative with his game. He is physical, direct and imposes a threat in front of goal.
His decision-making has long been criticized and this game is far from being a litmus test. However, if Ibrahimović decides to play as confidently as he did tonight, he has a bright future ahead of him.
Meister of the Match: Tom Bischof
Tom Bischof’s game is far ahead of most his age. He is constantly scanning, he controlled the pace of the game and constantly made line-breaking passes. Tonight, Bischof was Kompany’s dream field general. He did what most expect Kimmich to do in big games.
He may have secured only one assist, but his impact went far beyond that in bringing the team together to score.
With the defense being fortified in transfers, Bischof’s minutes at midfield are expected to increase and this is as exciting as it gets.
