As Chelsea look set to complete the signing of center back Maxence Lacroix, the exit of Trevoh Chalobah looks to be getting closer to reality as well. Serie A side Como 1907 have made yet another bid (their second? third?) for the 27-year-old, and this one might meet our requirements.
According to Fabrizio Romano’s “exclusive”, the bid is €25m fixed plus a €5m easy-to-reach add-on. That’s not quite the full £30m that we reportedly set as our asking price for a fixed fee (not to mention any additional
bonuses), but it’s not like there’s a bidding war for our homegrown defender’s services. Inter Milan were linked as well at some point, but that thread had gone quiet a long time ago.
Romano says that Chalobah is “keen” on the move and that talks are “ongoing”. I’d imagine there is a bit of domino effect here with the Lacroix deal, which itself may have been contingent on Crystal Palace identifying a potential replacement. But Lacroix seems all but done and dusted now, so this deal might see some actual progress as well.
