According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, both receiver Jayden Reed (foot) and cornerback Nate Hobbs (knee) have returned to practice on Thursday. Yesterday, Reed and Hobbs were the only non-participants in Green Bay.
Reed is reportedly dealing with a Jones fracture in his foot, which he’s described as more of a pain issue than anything else. Meanwhile, Hobbs is recovering from a meniscus issue that he had surgery for this summer. This is the first time that Hobbs has practiced since the end of July.
When
healthy, Reed is the Packers’ starting slot receiver, and Hobbs is a hybrid cornerback/slot defender. Green Bay basically played two looks in their nickel defenses this summer, when Hobbs was healthy: One where Hobbs was the slot defender and Carrington Valentine was brought off the bench to play outside cornerback, and one where Hobbs remained at outside cornerback and safety Javon Bullard came off the bench to play the slot.
Demovsky also noted that defensive end Micah Parsons (back) is practicing for the second straight day. So he looks to be trending toward playing in Week 1 against the Detroit Lions.
Overall, all 53 members of the Packers’ active roster were healthy enough to suit up for the team today, at least in a limited fashion.
