Liverpool FC have drawn their opponents for the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, and it’s fellow Premier League side Chelsea.
The two teams are, of course, no strangers to playing each other. The two teams have locked horns in the final of the League Cup twice this decade, in 2022 and 2024.
2022 saw Liverpool win a shootout 11-10 after Kepa Arrizabalaga skied his penalty into the atmosphere, while 2024 saw a heroic effort by a team comprised of yutes and Wataru Endo, as captain Virgil van Dijk nodded
home in extra time to see off the West London side 1-0.
Liverpool saw off Tottenham 3-1 at Anfield to book their place in this round, while Chelsea, by virtue of not having European football, have seen off Luton Town and Leeds United to progress this far.
The fixture is scheduled for the week commencing October 26.
