Barcelona forward Ansu Fati could be set to stay at Monaco after all as the Ligue 1 side are reportedly keen on activating his purchase option at the end of the current season.
Fati made a bright start to life in France after finally making his debut but then hit something of a tricky patch midway through the campaign.
Indeed there were reports at the time that the Ligue 1 club had decided against trying to sign Fati permanently due to doubts over his performances and injury record.
However, the youngster’s been back in the team again recently, and L’Equipe now claim Monaco would like to activate his 11 million euro purchase option.
Fati is said to be interested in staying but will now need to reach a financial agreement with Monaco if he is to continue his career in France.
The 23-year-old has made 25 appearances in all competitions this season for Monaco, scoring nine times.
