Now that the international break is over, it’s time to get back to the business of club football. After beginning his Roma career with a pair of one-nil victories, Gian Piero Gasperini is living the good life in the Italian capital. Sure, Gasp’s vaunted attack hasn’t exactly shown its teeth yet, but with Matías Soulé’s star on the rise and several intriguing parts complementing the young Argentine, it should only be a matter of time before Roma is racking up the goals.
Standing between Roma and a perfect
3-0 start is 19th-place Torino. With a brutal start to the season, including a 5-0 shellacking at the hands of Inter Milan and a tough scoreless draw against Fiorentina, the Toros aren’t as bad as their initial record suggests. Taken with the always unpredictable nature of the first match after the break, Roma shouldn’t take their northern counterparts lightly.
Since today’s kickoff occurs at the ungodly hour of 6:30 am (on a Sunday, no less!), I can’t guarantee that we’ll get the lineups posted at our usual one hour before kickoff time, but we’ll update the GT as soon as possible.
Forza Roma!
