Former Maryland football coach Mike Locksley has reportedly begun a new chapter in his career, signing on as an analyst with the Big Ten Network, the Sports Business Journal reported on Tuesday.
The program will air Locksley for his first broadcast Friday on The B1G Show and appear for Saturday’s pre-game show B1G Countdown to kickoff, prior to Maryland’s
road game versus Purdue.
Locksley will also work on weekends up until the Big Ten championship game on Dec. 5.
Per the terms of his contract, Locksley holds a $9.75 million buyout and will be paid in regular installments until the contract ends in 2028.
Locksley finished with an overall 39-54 record as head coach for the Terps, along with a 16-47 Big Ten conference record. The future remains undetermined for Maryland as athletic director Jim Smith continues to search for its next head coach.
