🥅 The big story: Soccer keeps rolling
Illinois soccer just finished one heck of a road trip.
The Illini followed Thursday’s 3-0 win at Western Michigan with a 1-0 victory at Virginia Tech on Sunday, improving to 3-0-3 on the season. Illinois has now won three straight matches without allowing a goal and remains unbeaten heading into Big Ten play.
The Illini return home Thursday to host Wisconsin at Demirjian Park in their conference opener.
🏐 Another sweep for volleyball
Illinois wrapped up its weekend in Houston with
another dominant performance, sweeping Rice in three sets. The Illini hit .494 as a team, their best since 2018, and completed their second straight sweep after taking down McNeese State on Saturday.
🏈 Onto Duke
Illinois has a full week to prepare for its next football test: Duke.
The Illini opened as 6.5-point favorites for Saturday’s matchup at Memorial Stadium after both teams began the season with victories. Illinois beat UAB 42-23, while Duke knocked off Tulane 17-3.
