n Commanders are home in front of the fans at Northwest Stadium for the second week in a row, and hosting the Los Angeles Rams in a Week 9 NFC matchup. Both teams need a win to stay alive in their divisions, but the Commanders need it more at 2-4-1.
The Commanders are coming off a come-from-behind 27-10 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles that showed a lot of positive signs. That game gets an asterisks from people because of how bad the Eagles have been over their 6-game losing streak, but they still
had a starting defense that couldn’t keep the Jayden Daniels and the Commanders from scoring. They will be missing two more of their receivers with Treylon Burks (foot) and Dyami Brown (calf) ruled out.
The Rams are 4-4 and will be getting DE Myles Garrett back for the first time since Week 1. This was a Super Bowl-favorite team, that is now struggling to get above .500 for the season. Matthew Stafford was the NFL MVP last season, but has been throwing more picks this year, putting his team on the wrong side of the turnover differential.
The Commanders a 4.5-point home underdogs, and need to play a complete game to come out of this game with a win. They played good enough last week against a tanking Philly team, but Sean McVay will have his team ready for another return to Washington.
