The calendar has flipped to October, and for the NFL that means the rust of the preseason is mostly gone, as teams across the league begin to hit midseason form.
The Seattle Seahawks have yet to truly hit their stride so far in 2025, and Week 5 brings what on paper should be the toughest matchup of the season so far in a visit to Lumen Field by the division rival San Francisco 49ers. The Niners sit atop the NFC West with an unblemished 4-0 record, just one of three teams in the league to remain undefeated.
Seattle is set to have both Julian Love and Ty Okada healthy and in action for the first time this season, but even as the defensive backfield is getting healthy, the Seahawks once again turned to the practice to address injuries in the secondary. This time at cornerback.
The Hawks did not make any practice squad elevations, however, former All-Pro cornerback Trevon Diggs is now on the 53 man roster after getting promoted from the practice squad Saturday afternoon. To make room for Diggs the Seahawks placed rookie Julian Neal on injured reserve.
