Former Barcelona defender Arnau Comas has showered Eric Garcia and Pau Cubarsi with praise and says the duo are perfect center-backs for the club.
The former Barcelona Atletic captain revealed he was also impressed with Gerard Martin this season and feels all three players are an ideal fit for the club.
“I was surprised by Gerard Martín’s ability to adapt very well and has had an incredible season,” he told Sport.
“I liked him a lot this season. Cubarsí with the age he is and what he has done… I can
tell you little more. With the ball he is the best there is, he is very intelligent tactically, he misses little and at his age that is very difficult.
“I love Eric. He is very versatile, similar to Cubarsí. They are not very tall, not even a Saliba type, but for the Barça style they are the perfect centre-backs.
“Eric physically in recent years I see him very well, very strong. In addition, both with few injuries. They are ideal. It is very difficult to find profiles similar to them outside Barça.”
Martin and Garcia both had eye-catching seasons in 2025-26 but Barca were still expected to sign a defender this summer.
However, the transfer talk has gone quiet recently, with Barca focusing their efforts in attack instead and a replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
