Henry Cejudo is going to try something new.
On Wednesday, Misfits Boxing and Cejudo announced that the former Olympic gold medalist and two-division UFC champion will make his boxing debut, taking on influencer boxer Deen The Great on Sep. 26 at James L. Knight Arena in Miami.
Cejudo, 39, retired from MMA for the second time in December, after losing a decision to Peyton Talbott at UFC 323. Since then, Cejudo has focused on other ventures, including a return to wrestling, having competed twice for Real
American Freestyle, most recently losing to Merab Dvalishvili on points. The two are set to rematch this Saturday at RAF 12 in Cleveland. Cejudo has previous boxing experience, winning the Arizona State Copper Gloves tournament in 2010.
Deen the Great is one of the most successful influencer boxers in the world, with a 7-1 record in exhibition matches. Most recently, he lost a decision to Amado Vargas, son of world champion boxer Fernando Vargas, at Misfits Mania in December.
