One of the New Orleans Saints’ top needs entering the 2026 NFL Draft was RG. Even though Cesar Ruiz is set to be the starter there, his inconsistencies and injury history make him a liability next season. The Saints made it known that he needs to improve next season, but could New Orleans get his replacement before that happens?
Well, the Saints have selected a RG with their first pick of the 4th round, that being Auburn’s Jeremiah Wright. As I mentioned, RG was a positional need for the Saints, and
now they have someone who can develop behind Ruiz and potentially take over.
Wright is new to high-level offensive line play, so he is a developmental prospect, but his strength is truly impressive. In Moore’s scheme that needs strenght, this was probably a major selling point for the Saints staff.
Last season, Wright mostly struggled in pass protection, and that is where he will need to improve, but his run blocking is impressive. If he does get into the starting RG spot during 2026, Travis Etienne is going to be a very happy man running behind Wright.
