At this point, it’s well-established that Juventus have a goalkeeper problem.
The equally important problem is that we don’t exactly know how they’re going to actually try and fix it.
By now, they’re down to, at best, Plan C after Plan A and Plan B didn’t materialize. The first, of course, was trying to lure Alisson Becker back to Serie A and reunite him with Luciano Spalletti. After that fell through because Liverpool didn’t want to see their resident handsome Brazilian goalkeeper go, Juve moved on to another
big name in the Premier League, Aston Villa’s Emi Martinez. But, like with Alisson, things never materialized.
So now we’re left to wonder where things are going.
Which leads us to one of the latest developments when it comes to a Juventus goalkeeper target …
Yeah, that’s right. It’s no secret by now that Paris Saint-Germain want to sign Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki. Why? Because they can — and they have the money at hand and available to spend that Juventus’ likely don’t because … well, the Europa League. But there’s also been plenty of reports that PSG could sign Suzuki and then send him on a season-long loan spell to Juventus now that things appear to be a little bit better between the two clubs considering the whole Randal Kolo Muani saga has crossed the finish line.
It’s something that we haven’t really seen much of — or probably even considered a couple of weeks ago when Juventus’ interest in Suzuki started to gain momentum at the same time that the Martinez deal looked more and more difficult to make happen. But as we’ve come to see, this club can only wait so much longer to sign a new goalkeeper because of what is currently on the roster as the start of the new campaign approaches. Desperation mode could well create some sort of newfangled creativity — and that involves this rumored deal for Suzuki.
So, the Juventus Question of the Day is this: If Juventus have a chance to sign Zion Suzuki on loan for the 2026-27 season to replace Michele Di Gregorio, should they do it?
