The Pittsburgh Penguins have finalized the team’s opening night roster before this week’s season-opener against the Philadelphia Flyers.
The Penguins’ roster for the opening game against Philadelphia will consist of 13 forwards, 7 defensemen and 2 goalies.
The opening night roster consists of Egor Chinakhov, Sidney Crosby, Connor Dewar, David Gustafsson, Filip Hallander, Ville Koivunen, Hendrix Lapierre, Evgeni Malkin, Rutger McGroarty, Tommy Novak, Rickard Rakell, Nick Robertson, Elmer Soderblom,
Declan Carlile, Sam Girard, Erik Karlsson, Kaedan Korczak, Kris Letang, Ilya Solovyov, Trevor van Riemsdyk, Sergei Murashov and Arturs Silovs.
Pittsburgh will open the season with five players on injured reserve. Those players are Justin Brazeau, Ben Kindel, Blake Lizotte, Bryan Rust and Ryan Graves.
Andrei Kuzmenko has been designated as non-roster as he returned home to Russia to be with his family after his father was killed in a bear attack.
Tristan Broz, Melvin Fernstrom, Oliver Okuliar and goaltender Gabriel D’Aigle have been designated as Injured Non-Roster.
Pittsburgh’s season will get underway on Wednesday night in Philadelphia. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Xfinity Mobile Arena.
