Steelers wide receiver and top special teamer Ben Skowronek (calf) was limited in Pittsburgh’s Wednesday practice, the team announced. The practice marked his first participation since Week 5.
Joining Skowronek as limited on Wednesday was outside linebacker Alex Highsmith, with a groin injury; Highsmith was limited with the same injury last week but still played versus New Orleans in Week 7.
A trio of defensive backs — Brandin Echols (hamstring), Jalen Ramsey (wrist) and Doneiko Slaughter (hamstring) — did
not participate Wednesday. Echols missed the Steelers’ game against the Saints, while Ramsey has been playing through his wrist injury despite missing practice reps in recent weeks. Slaughter is a new addition to the report.
Elsewhere on the Steelers’ participation report, defensive tackle Cam Heyward, outside linebacker T.J. Watt and tight end Darnell Washington did not participate Wednesday with a rest designation.
The Steelers’ Week 8 opponent, the Cleveland Browns, have yet to release their Wednesday practice report at the time of this writing.
