Cowboys team has a great chance to get back on track in Houston – BTB
There is a lot of optimism surrounding the Cowboys right, which is a bit surprising given how their week three game ended. After falling to 1-2 last week in Rio, the Cowboys have a prime opportunity to even things up at 2-2 and carry good vibes into their week five game against Tampa Bay where Joey Porter Jr. will be a for sure full-go.
Through three games Prescott has completed 73 of 105 passes for 730 yards, seven touchdowns and only one interception with a passer rating of 107.2. Thanks to Dak and his leadership, Dallas is averaging over 29 points per game, seventh-best in the NFL. Houston is averaging only 18 points, ranking 24th. That is an important difference.
Dallas has shown that it can score enough points to survive difficult games, Houston hasn’t. The Texans are 0-3 and have scored only 54 points across those games, Dallas has scored 88.
‘Boundary eraser’: Cowboys DC Christian Parker reacts to Joey Porter Jr. trade – Clark Dalton, Yardbarker.com
Cowboys’ DC Christian Parker spoke for the first time since the Cowboys loss in Brazil. While he briefly touched on the unfortunate ending to the game, the Joey Porter Jr. addition dominated the conversation. To a surprise to no one, Parker is very excited.
Parker called Porter a “boundary eraser” in pass coverage (h/t Ed Werder of WFAA-TV in Dallas).
“He certainly fits what we do and how we want to play,” Parker continued. “When you have opportunities, and I get asked about guys like that, it’s usually a yes.
“I’m always trying to add more good players.”
Boundary corners play the shorter side of the field and are typically excellent in pass coverage, like Porter. In 2025, Pro Football Focus credited him with the third-lowest passer rating allowed among corners (55.9).
