The regular season for the Phillies comes down to this week. They essentially have a first round bye wrapped up, barring an unforeseen collapse at home against two bad teams. They’re getting healthier
all around the roster, with their last big piece possibly returning from injury this week in the form of Trea Turner. They still seem to be firing on all cylinders in the batter’s box while the pitching, outside of Ranger Suarez’s egg laid on Sunday, has performed well.
So, how are we feeling about the team entering this final home stretch?
It’s obviously a better feeling having already clinched most of what they wanted to clinch. Other teams are playing for their very playoff lives, so not having to deal with that stress makes taking in this team a lot better. There are always things that the team can do better, but it does feel like the Phillies are a bit more complete than just about every other contender out there. They’ve performed well against the best teams that are in the playoffs in the National League, as well as some of the teams on the American League side.
Things just feel like they are in a good place right now.
