Live from Delaware, it’s Saturday Night! I, NAS204PSU, am here at BTSC to bring you this Saturday Night Open Thread (aka SNOT).
Tomorrow is the 2070th anniversary of the assassination of Julius Caesar, the Ides of March. You know who else has been “killing it” in March? Our Steelers! They have been making free agent moves to plug holes and shore up positions in free agency before the draft. I am pretty excited by all the changes this offseason, but there’s still a lot of uncertainty. I’d say there’s both
cause for optimism and cause for concern.
This 6 pack of questions is here to get the conversation going, so let us know what you’re eating/drinking!
1: Site Producer Jarrett Bailey wrote that “Steelers miss out on Kyler Murray, signs with Vikings.” Give us your thoughts: I’d say we “missed out” on (insert player name)….
2. AmpersandSteel posted a Mock Draft 2.0. I’m not a “draft guy”, but positionally seems like a solid draft. The only thing I didn’t like was Drew Allar. PSU QBs are terrible in the NFL: no PSU QB has ever won a Super Bowl, and the one who played in one threw 4 interceptions. Your turn: When drafting a QB, I’d draft….in round(s) …
3. Rico Dowdle signed with the Steelers for 2-years-$12.5 million, which is just a bit more than the 2-year 11.9 million extension Jaylen Warren signed. If I were Jaylen Warren, I’d feel… about Dowdle.
4. The Ravens pulled an Uno-reverse on the Maxx Crosby trade, backing out under a “failed physical” excuse. If I were an NFL GM thinking about trading with the Ratbirds, I’d…
5. NCAA Basketball selection Sunday is tomorrow. For grade school gym class teams (kickball, stick ball, etc), I’d be picked…
a. As team captain, I’m a natural leader
b. Usually first, I know how to send some balls!
c. Top half, I’d take it seriously.
d. Middle-ish, wasn’t great, wasn’t bad.
e. Not last, but sports were not my thing.
f. Last, but I didn’t want to play anyway.
6. Former ESPN radio show Mike & Mike used to talk about “Sheets of Integrity,” a single bracket filled out for any pool on March Madness. When entering multiple pools, I’d fill out X brackets.
