What is the story about?
Well alright then.
In need of some depth, the team is making a move to have Cortes give them that needed depth. We have all seen that the rotation and bullpen have been stretched rather thin lately (thanks alot, Donnie), so adding someone who has had some big league success is a wise move.
Cortes has not pitched in the major leagues this year, recovering from surgery
last season. He’s been auditioning around the game for interested teams and apparently the Phillies have offered him some kind of guarantee that he’ll see time in the major league rotation at some point. Might the team be going to a six-man rotation soon?
