The New Orleans Saints entered the 2026 season hoping to build on the progress made during head coach Kellen Moore’s first year. However, a disappointing 1-4 start has raised questions about whether the team can turn things around before it’s too late.
After dropping three consecutive home games, including Sunday’s 23-13 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, frustration continues to grow among the Who Dat Nation. Now, that frustration has reached the top of the organization. Saints owner Gayle Benson made
it clear that the team’s performance has fallen short of expectations. She also acknowledged the frustration of Saints fans, emphasizing that the responsibility for improving the team begins with her. While stressing accountability throughout the organization, including general manager Mickey Loomis, Moore, his coaching staff and the players, Benson expressed her commitment to making the decisions necessary to improve the team.
With 12 games remaining, the Saints still have an opportunity to salvage their season. However, inconsistent performances, costly mistakes and struggles on both sides of the ball have left little room for error.
The question now is whether Benson’s strong message will spark a turnaround or whether the Saints are headed toward another disappointing season.
