Joao Cancelo is heading back to Barcelona
for a third spell with the club after agreeing to terminate his contract at Al-Hilal in order to secure a return to Camp Nou.The Portugal international will re-join Hansi Flick’s side after a bright loan spell last season where he managed to force his way into the starting XI following his arrival in the winter window.
Cancelo will now join Alejandro Balde as Flick’s options at left-back, while the German coach looks set to choose from Eric Garcia, Jules Kounde
and Xavi Espart on the opposite flank.
Pau Cubarsi, Gerard Martin and Andreas Christensen are the central defenders available, with Kounde and Eric also able to play in the middle and Alvaro Cortes potentially set to be promoted from Barca Atletic.
So today’s Barca Blaugranes Question of the Day is:
Do Barça still need to sign another defender after Joao Cancelo or is the backline now complete?
