Florida State quarterback Tommy Castellanos officially announced that he is declaring for the 2026 NFL draft. The decision puts an end to any outstanding questions about his future in college football.
There were reports earlier in the offseason that Castellanos’ waiver attempt with the NCAA was denied. Despite the report, there were still whispers or rumors that Castellanos and his representation were going to appeal. All of that is now put to rest with his announcement.
Castellanos played one year at Florida State and recorded 2,760 passing yards and 15 touchdowns. He also was a threat on the ground for the Seminoles, rushing for 557 yards and nine scores. FSU was Castellanos’ third stop in his college career, starting at UCF for one year before two years at Boston College. The one year stop in Tallahassee, highlighted by a season opening win over Alabama, ends up being the last collegiate chapter for Castellanos.
The Seminoles will most likely turn to the portal for 2026 as the depth took an additional hit earlier today with Brock Glenn’s announcement to enter the transfer portal. Kevin Sperry and 2026 commitment Jaden O’Neal make up the current FSU quarterback room.
