Alejandro Balde could be set to leave Barcelona before the close of the summer transfer window following talks with his agent and the club.
According to Jijantes, Balde “will not continue” at Barcelona and “has made the decision to seek an exit after the latest talks and feelings at the club.”
His agent Jorge Mendes is now said to be “working to find him a team in this final stretch of the transfer window.”
Premier League side Manchester United have already been linked with Balde and may be tempted
to spend again this summer after opening their campaign with a shock 2-0 defeat to newly-promoted Hull City.
Balde’s decision comes after Hansi Flick was asked about the defender earlier today at his pre-match press conference.
The German coach said: “It’s a difficult question because he’s a player of immense quality, and it’s important to know if he’s confident he can compete in his position. That’s what I want to see from all my players.
“Every day I observe what they do, their level, whether they demonstrate that they’re at the level to play. Ultimately, we have to play as a team; only then will we achieve success. I need everyone to be one hundred percent.”
Balde had appeared eager to stay but it seems like he may just have had a change of heart and is now willing to move on instead.
Thoughts, culers?
