The next week or so may be the toughest period of time for the Los Angeles Rams as they will have to watch the Seattle Seahawks play in Super Bowl LX on Sunday, February 8, 2026 against the New England Patriots on, knowing they were “this close” again but fell short.
As the NFL world turns its attention to Super Bowl LX, all signs point to a classic clash between two long-shot stories that defied preseason odds to reach football’s biggest stage. In a game set for Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California,
the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots will renew one of the most intriguing rivalries in recent memory — a rematch of their iconic 2015 Super Bowl XLIX meeting.
Analysis:
The Seattle Seahawks arrive in Super Bowl LX after dominating the NFC with a 14-3 record and then surviving a tight 31-27 NFC Championship win over the Rams to punch their ticket. Sam Darnold has revitalized Seattle’s offense, posting over 4,000 passing yards and commanding a potent attack that finished among the league leaders in score production. His postseason play has been efficient and, perhaps most importantly, turnover-free in recent weeks — as they gear up against a Patriots defense that will be looking to create game-changing stops.
Patriots supporters, of course, will point to New England’s remarkable turnaround this season and their storied Super Bowl pedigree. Drake Maye’s leadership and playmaking have sparked chants of a “new dynasty,” and the officiating trends in recent games have shown that favorites in both conference title games typically carry momentum into the Super Bowl. But this prediction leans toward Seattle’s overall balance.
On the defensive side, Seattle’s unit is arguably the strongest in the NFL. They allowed the fewest points per game in the regular season and showed their dominance in the playoffs against the San Francisco 49ers, suffocating them and forcing critical turnovers.
The Patriots have an impressive defensive of their own, but they have played subpar offenses (Los Angeles Chargers, Houston Texans, and Denver Broncos) in the playoffs to get to the Super Bowl. New England’s offense has been pedestrian the last three weeks making it hard to envision them beating the Seahawks who have looked balance for the last two months.
For me, this Super Bowl hinges on the quarterbacks against pressure. Drake Maye looked like the more appealing option before the playoffs began but Sam Darnold has transformed the narrative surrounding him the last few weeks. Darnold has looked comfortable in high pressured situations.
The Seahawks should get their second Super Bowl in franchise history. In my opinion, they should blow out the Patriots by two plus scores. But, something also tells me that the first half will be a defensive slugfest. With that, I’m guessing it remains a tight game until the fourth quarter when Seattle is able to pull ahead and allow their defense to get after Maye.
Prediction: Seahawks win 20-10
Super Bowl LX MVP: Nick Emmanwori
