Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone was asked about Julian Alvarez’s future after his team’s final game of the season on Sunday night.
Simeone saw his side hammered 5-1 by Villarreal as they ended the season down in fourth place in the Spanish top flight.
The Atletico boss spoke about Alvarez after full-time following months of speculation about the forward’s future.
Barcelona are believed to be keen on trying to sign Alvarez this summer along with Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal.
Simeone thinks Alvarez’s
mind is probably already made up: “This isn’t a question for me; it’s a question for Julián. He’s old enough to know what he’s going to do, and I imagine he’s already made his decision.”
There has been talk that Alvarez would like to move to Barcelona but there are still plenty of doubts over whether the Catalans can actually afford a deal and if Atletico will sell to La Liga rivals.
