It’s still flip season in Knoxville. Building off of last week’s flip of five-star receiver Tristen Keys, Tennessee came back to do it again with four-star edge rusher Hezekiah Harris, who was previously committed to Auburn. Harris announced his decision this afternoon, backing off of a year-long commitment to Auburn.
The 6-5, 235 pound pass rusher is the 100th ranked player in the 247Sports Composite Rankings for the class of 2026. Harris is the 13th ranked edge rusher in the class, coming out of Huntsville, Alabama. Tennessee stayed on Harris throughout the year, despite his commitment. They were able to get him on campus for his official visit to Tennessee back in late June. A little over two months later, Harris becomes a Vol.
Auburn’s 2026 class now has just 12 commitments, falling outside of the top 50 in the 2026 class rankings. Tennessee moves up to No. 7 nationally, now with 25 total commitments. Harris is Tennessee’s 7th commitment inside of the current top 100, per 247Sports.
Harris joins fellow edge rushers Zach Groves and CJ Edwards in the class.
Harris looks to continue a pipeline under the Heupel coaching staff which started with Byron Young. James Pearce followed in those footsteps at LEO, becoming a first round pick in this year’s NFL Draft. Joshua Josephs is the next man up, with Caleb Herring and Jordan Ross coming on strong behind him in the rotation.
Harris, joined by Groves, Edwards and ’25 product Christian Gass will be the next guys up down the road.
