The Cincinnati Bengals return home licking their wounds only to find the Jacksonville Jaguars waiting for them. This quarterback rematch between Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence from the 2019 National Championship game has been a pretty one sided affair. Lawrence has never defeated Burrow or the Bengals. That includes last season when Jake Browning put together a game winning drive to shock them in Week 2 after Burrow went down with an injury.
Even moving away from the quarterbacks, there is plenty
going on in this game. The Bengals are coming off their worst defensive performance of the season in a humbling loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. This Jacksonville offense is certainly the best they’ve faced all season, so we will see how they handle this well oiled play action attack.
The Jaguars defense may be looking to prove they are legit. So far they have not faced what many would consider a top end quarterback after facing off against the Cleveland Browns, Denver Broncos and New England Patriots. This Bengals offense was dealing outside of Burrow getting strip sacked to end the game.
If both sides of the ball for either of these teams start rolling at the same time then they have the ability to look like a scary juggernaut. It might come down to who shows up on Sunday.
