This evening, the NFL brings its week 8 schedule to a close with a single game on Monday Night Football.
Out of the 13 games across the NFL in week 8, eight of them featured cross-conference matchups. However,
it was a brutal week for the NFC against AFC opponents, as NFC teams went just 1-6 in those games so far. The only win for the NFC was the Packers’ 35-25 win over the Steelers on Sunday Night Football, so tonight the Washington Commanders will look to change that narrative a bit and pull an upset over the heavily-favored Kansas City Chiefs tonight.
To make matters worse for the NFC, none of the conference’s six losses to AFC teams were close — all six were by 11 points or more. That’s just fine for the Packers, though, who continue to move forward as the conference’s top seed with a 5-1-1 record.
Tonight, Washington will try to not only turn that trend around but also their own lack of success against the Chiefs franchise. In 11 games between these two teams all-time, Washington has won just once, way back in 1983. Can they overcome a double-digit point spread tonight with backup quarterback Marcus Mariota in for Jayden Daniels, or will Kansas City continue their hot streak after a tough start to the season? Tune in to find out.
