Last night, the Crimson Tide led the SEC with two first round draft picks as OT Kadyn Proctor went 12th overall to the Miami Dolphins and QB Ty Simpson went right behind him at 13th to the L.A. Rams. It was the Tide’s 18th straight draft with a first round pick, and their 10th straight with multiple first round picks.
Day two may be a little less exciting for Alabama fans. Wide receiver Germie Bernard is mostly expected to be picked today at some point, but anyone else may be a long shot. Defensive
lineman LT Overton, center Parker Brailsford, and linebackers Deontae Lawson and Justin Jefferson have outside shots at a team falling in love with them and jumping on them early, but for the most part, the rest of Alabama’s draft class is mostly expected to be day three players.
Still, three players in the first three rounds of the draft is a pretty good haul. How high Germie Bernard goes today will be interesting to follow, as the general consensus is that he’s a pretty good player at most everything, but lacks any truly elite traits.
The second round kicks off one hour earlier this evening, at 6:00 p.m. Central Time, and will continue to be broadcast on ABC, ESPN, and NFL Network – you can choose which coverage you prefer.
