With the transfer window now shut and squad lists needing to be submitted for the 2026-27 season before the third round of matches kicks off, Liverpool today confirmed today a full 25-man squad including the maximum 17 foreign-trained players plus eight homegrown inclusions.
There are no surprise players who have been left off, and Liverpool even had room to include Hugo Ekitike in the hopes he will be available before revised lists can be submitted following the January transfer window.
There are
a few names some fans may not be overly familiar with on the homegrown side, though, including 21-year-old reserve right back Isaac Mabaya and 22-year-old reserve left back Luke Chambers along with fourth-choice goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros. None are likely to be involved in the first team for the Premier League this season, but their inclusion doesn’t block anyone else and they can be included in case of emergency.
Players younger than 21 also don’t have to be included, which means Trey Nyoni, Rio Ngumoha, and Giovanni Leoni do not have to be registered despite that they are expected to be involved at the first team level this season.
