Damian Pinas is having troubles finding his next victim opponent. The dim mak practitioner spoke to MMA Junkie recently and revealed he wants to get on UFC 335 on December 12. The problem is… he doesn’t have a dance partner.
Now, we’ve heard lots of fighters say “no one wants to fight me.” It often comes off as sounding rather silly and like the fighter is just trying to gas themselves up. This is pro MMA. Nobody is afraid of anyone, right?
All that being said, when Pinas says guys are afraid to fight
him… I believe it!
Pinas has now wrecked four opponents in the Octagon, while barely breaking a sweat. At UFC 332 a few weeks ago he seemed to gentle place his fist on Andrey Pulyaev’s chin only for the Russian to go down like the glove was soaked in chlorophyll. Pinas’ easy power had Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier in the booth saying they’d never seen anything like it and that Pinas might be the most dangerous striker in the sport right now.
In his recent interview, ‘Baba Yaga’ brought up the same fighter he named during his post-fight interview; Baisangur Susurkaev.
Pinas had called Susurkaev out in the past. But he’s been met with crickets. That’s a good sign of intelligence from Susurkaev, who is on his own rise after a string of finishes (though none as impressive as what Pinas has been doing).
“I moved from Susurkaev because he wasn’t accepting the fight,” Pinas told Junkie. “He didn’t want the smoke. So that’s why I say, ‘Okay, move forward. Let’s go to [for someone in the] top-15.’ But if he still wants the smoke, let the UFC send the contract. Let’s get it booked. Let’s fight 12th December. Let’s get it.”
Pinas added that he thought Susurkaev would be an easy win. I imagine if you see people fall asleepevery time you touch them, that anyone feels like an easy fight, though. “[I want to] show the world that he is not unbeatable. People can beat him. I can beat him, easy.”
With the Susurkaev fight seemingly not happening, Pinas issued an open call for an opponent on December 12. Good luck with that.
